Robert J. Houghton PhD MA(Hons)
Robert J. Houghton is currently a Research Fellow in the Human Interface Technologies research group at the University of Birmingham, working
on projects for the Human Factors Integration Defence Technology Centre (HFIDTC). He holds an MA (Hons) and PhD in Experimental Psychology.
Robert specialises in cognitive ergonomics and has carried out research in both laboratory and field settings relevant to topics such as flightdeck design, air traffic control operations and incident management within the emergency services. He is currently undertaking research into the human factors of command and control and organisational processes for achieving effective human factors integration.
Other research interests include the architecture of human attention and memory, behavioural indices of situational awareness, human-computer interaction and the application of network analysis techniques to issues in human factors.
