Photograph of Lucy Mitchell Lucy Mitchell is a Human Factors Engineer at Lockheed Martin UK, based in Havant. She has a degree in Applied Psychology and a Masters in Cognitive Neuroscience.

Lucy has over eight years experience in applied research in a variety of domains. Lucy started her career at the Centre for Human Sciences, at DERA in Farnborough. Her responsibilities there included work with the RAF, the Army, and the Royal Marines. Her role involved mental workload assessment and modelling, crew reduction studies, and research into dual task performance and task interference. These have remained her professional interests. 
She was also involved in work on cockpit displays and visualisation tools for battlefield control. Lucy then worked in consultancy for three years, covering all aspects of HFI, including managing Human Factors Integration Plans (HFIPs) and HF Test and Acceptance processes. Lucy now works for Lockheed Martin developing the new Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for the Merlin Helicopter.
