Kevin Bessell
Kevin Bessell graduated from the University of Southampton in 1998 with a degree
in Physics with Astronomy. After a brief spell researching the activation
of thermal batteries at DERA, he joined BAE Systems, Underwater Systems Division,
as a Trials Analyst. From there he moved into the Systems and Simulation department,
working on an off-line simulator for the Sting Ray lightweight torpedo and
using it to develop tactics for defeating countermeasures. He later moved
to the Synthetic Environments group at Thales Training and Simulation, becoming
involved in a synthetic environment for the Watchkeeper UAV programme and
a weapon movement model for the CVF future aircraft carrier. In 2004 he joined
BAE Systems AeI as a Software Engineer and has since been supporting
various HFI DTC research activities, as well as helping to maintain the shared
working environment.
